ARA-----------------------The Shahabad Turha Ekta Manch family organised a "Turha Samajik Baithak" in Jitaura Bazar, Piro, the centre of social consciousness of Shahabad region, with historic enthusiasm, discipline and social awareness. Senior citizens, women, youth, students and intellectuals from villages and blocks of many districts including Bhojpur, Buxar, Rohtas, Kaimur participated in the programme in large numbers.

“Turha' is not just a word - it is the flag of our historic identity, struggle and self-respect. Now this word should reach every document, every platform and every home." He put forward 5 major proposals for the society: Public awareness campaign in support of the word Turha, Priority to education and self-reliance, Linkage to employment, business and government schemes, Political participation and leadership building, Empowering the society by organizing the new generation

Manish Kumar Turha (Program Coordinator) said that "We are Turha – a symbol of tradition, hard work and identity. We are not a caste, We are an ideology. Our strength is our hard work and self-respect." Meaning of TURHA: T = Ascetic,U = Entrepreneur, R = Nation builder, H = Courageous, A = Self-reliant.
