MARRIED WOMAN COMMITS SUICIDE

ARA-------------------------One married woman committed suicide by hanging herself to the ceiling of her house at Semaria village under Sinha police station in Bhojpur district. Police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem. The deceased was identified as Babita Kumari 22 wife of Rahul Singh of Semaria village under Sinha police station. The family members of the woman blamed her in-laws for killing her. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Sinha police station in this regard. Police are investigating the matter.

Kavita Kumari of Kadari village under Ara Muffassil police station and younger sister of the deceased said that her father Raju Singh had married Babita Kumair with Rahul Singh son of Jagdish Singh of Semaria village under Sinha police station on February 10, 2022. One year after the marriage, the in-laws demanded a motorcycle and a gold chain. When their demands were not fulfilled, they started torturing her physically and mentally. Her father went to her in-laws several times for compromise but the in-laws did not refrain from torturing her. Meanwhile her brother-in-law (jija) Rahul Kumar informed that the condition of Babita Kumari was serious and her father-in-law and mother-in-law had taken her to the hospital. On information, when the parents of the deceased reached Semaria village, they found Babita Kumari lying dead on the courtyard and her in-laws were sitting around her. They informed the police and the police arrived at the spot and recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

Kaviata Kumari blamed that the father-in-law, mother-in-law and sister-in-law killed her merely for a motorcycle and a gold chain. She further said that Rahul Singh, husband of the deceased worked in a private firm at Nagpur in Maharashtra.
