ARA-------------------------The Kagyed Dance is performed in Buddhist monasteries amidst the snow-capped hills of Sikkim as winter approaches.
It is not just a dance, but a vibrant embodiment of faith, devotion, and spiritual practice. In this dance, monks wear colorful masks and traditional costumes. To the sound of damaru, dhol, and conch shells, they perform divine poses, symbolizing the triumph of truth and the destruction of falsehood. It is believed that this dance is performed to wish for peace, prosperity, and good fortune in the coming year. Through this festival, the message of suppressing evil and protecting dharma is conveyed. Devotees who witness it believe it is an opportunity to receive the blessings of the gods. My culture…my country…my pride.
