PATNA------------------------Major action has been taken in the Dular Chand Yadav murder case in the Mokama Assembly constituency. Police have arrested Mokama JDU candidate Anant Kumar Singh, along with his two associates, Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram, from Bedna village. Addressing a press conference, Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma confirmed the arrest of Mokama's powerful MLA Anant Singh. This arrest was made in connection with an election clash near Tartar village on October 30th, which resulted in the death of one person.

SSP Sharma stated that a serious clash between two political groups occurred during election campaigning in the Mokama Assembly constituency on October 30th. This incident was unfortunate and a violation of the Model Code of Conduct. Stone-pelting occurred during the clash, injuring several people. Following the incident, the body of Dular Chand Yadav, a 75-year-old resident of the same village with a prior criminal history, was recovered.

Immediately after the incident, police arrived at the scene and gathered necessary evidence. Footage from several locations at the scene was also obtained, which provided crucial information regarding the incident. Eyewitness statements were also recorded, and the post-mortem report of the deceased also provided several important clues.

The SSP further stated that preliminary investigations have revealed that this incident was a serious violation of the Model Code of Conduct. This violent incident occurred despite the Election Commission's directives to ensure peaceful elections. Investigations have revealed that candidate Anant Singh was present at the scene at the time of the clash and the incident unfolded in his presence. He has been named the main accused in the incident.

Anant Singh was arrested in Bedna village. Police also received information that two of his associates were also present at the scene. These two associates have also been arrested. They have been identified as Manikant Thakur (resident of Nadwan village, Barh police station) and Ranjeet Ram (resident of Ladhma village).

In total, three people have been arrested in this case: candidate Anant Singh, Manikant Thakur, and Ranjeet Ram. All of them will be presented before a magistrate as part of the judicial process, and further legal action will be taken. SSP Sharma stressed that the police are conducting a fair and thorough investigation into the matter and that the culprits will not be spared.
