ARA----------------------School children were informed about the dangers and precautions of cold waves as part of the Safe Saturday campaign under the Chief Minister's School Safety Program. During this program held in government schools on Saturday, focal teachers explained that when the temperature drops below 7 degrees Celsius in winter and a strong westerly wind blows, this situation is considered a cold wave. This has adverse effects on the body. During a cold wave, the body becomes cold and the limbs become numb. Shivering or shivering is felt, nausea and vomiting occur, and sometimes semi-consciousness or fainting occurs. During a cold wave, it is crucial to maintain body heat. Due to the low outside temperature, the body temperature also begins to drop. In such a situation, maintaining body temperature balance is essential. To achieve this, one should spend as much time as possible in the sun, avoid unnecessary outdoor activities, and wear warm clothing. When leaving the house, cover your ears, face, hands, and feet with appropriate clothing. Eat warm and nutritious food to maintain body heat. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration. Children and the elderly should be especially cautious. During the Safe Saturday program, children were educated through activities related to cold wave prevention.
