ARA-------------------------The CPI-ML launched an indefinite sit-in protest in front of the Saraiya village court, demanding 5 decimals of land and housing for Mahadalits in Babhangaon, Barhara block. The lives of Mahadalits (Mushars) are hellish under the Nitish Kumar-BJP government - CPI-ML!
The CPI-ML launched an indefinite sit-in protest in front of the Saraiya village court in Barhara, demanding 5 decimals of land and housing under the Indira Awas Yojana for homeless Mahadalits in Babhangaon, Barhara block, and a community toilet in Saraiya market. Hundreds of CPI-ML leaders, workers, and Mahadalit families, both men and women, participated in the indefinite sit-in protest.
Addressing the indefinite protest, CPI(ML) leaders said that under the Nitish Kumar-BJP government in Bihar, hundreds of homeless Musahars in Babhangaon village of the West Gudi Panchayat in Barhara block lack their own land, making their lives extremely difficult. This Mahadalit community, in fact, resides at the lowest rung of society, and their lack of homes makes their lives miserable. They are forced to live on the roadside. Therefore, they need to be provided with residential land and housing. Nitish Kumar's government in Bihar is also touting a special campaign to resettle these Mahadalit families. Yet, these Mahadalits still lack land. Despite repeatedly applying for land, they have been running from pillar to post in government offices, but no one has come forward to pay their debts, and to this day, they have received neither land nor housing. They were forced to do so. An indefinite strike has begun today under the leadership of the CPI-ML. The CPI-ML has demanded that the government and district administration guarantee 5 decimals of land and housing under the Indira Awas Yojana for all Mahadalit families so that these poor people can have a better life.
The indefinite strike was led by CPI-ML Block Committee member Santosh Ram. The indefinite strike was attended by CPI-ML Barhara Assembly in-charge Nand Ji, Koilwar Block Secretary Vishnu Thakur, District Committee member Vishal Kumar, Barhara MP representative Vijay Yadav, Deepak Ravani, Yogendra Paswan, Shivgovind Ram, Ranveer Singh, Munna Musahar, Mangal Kumar Ram, Akhtar Hasmi, Phool Kumari, Bajaru Musahar, Hewanti Devi, Ramdev Ram, Munna Ram, and hundreds of men and women.
