ARA----------------------------The Bihar Assembly elections are set to begin in a few days. Campaigning has begun by various political parties and politicians. Voters are also vocal about their respective issues. ETV Bharat is also running an "Election Series" to gauge the pulse of the state's people. Our "Election Express," which began in the capital, Patna, has now reached the land of Babu Veer Kunwar Singh.

"Election Express" in Ara: Today, Friday, ETV Bharat's "Election Express" will be in Ara, the Bhojpur district headquarters. Starting at 3 p.m. from the city's Ramna Maidan, not only will the current MLAs' accounts be reviewed, but the public's voices will also be heard.

Grand Alliance's dominance in Bhojpur: The Grand Alliance dominated the 2020 Bihar Assembly elections. The Grand Alliance won five of the seven seats in Bhojpur district, while the NDA won only two. The ruling party suffered heavy losses due to the Chirag Paswan factor.

Lotus blooms in Ara: The strong Bharatiya Janata Party retained its hold on the Ara assembly seat in 2020. Veteran leader Amarendra Pratap Singh defeated CPI(ML) candidate Kayamuddin Ansari on behalf of the Grand Alliance.

Lantern burns in Sandesh: In the last assembly elections, the Rashtriya Janata Dal won the Sandesh seat. RJD's Kiran Devi defeated JDU's Vijendra Yadav. Shweta Singh was contesting for the LJP.

Lotus blooms in Barhara: The Bharatiya Janata Party won the Barhara assembly seat in Bhojpur in the last assembly elections. Powerful leader Raghavendra Pratap Singh defeated RJD candidate Saroj Yadav.

CPI(ML) wins in Agiaon: In the 2020 elections, CPI(ML) candidate Manoj Manzil defeated JDU's Prabhunath Singh. Meanwhile, Rajeshwar Paswan was the LJP candidate. Although Manoj Manzil lost his MLA post after being convicted in a murder case, CPI(ML) candidate Shiv Prakash Ranjan was successful in winning the 2024 by-election.

CPI(ML) victory in Tarari: The CPI(ML) also won the Tarari assembly seat. Sudama Prasad defeated BJP's Kaushal Singh. Sudama Prasad resigned after becoming the Lok Sabha MP from Ara in 2024. BJP's Vishal Prashant won the by-election.

RJD victory in Jagdishpur: In the 2020 assembly elections, RJD's Ram Vishnu Singh won the Jagdishpur seat by a landslide victory, defeating JDU's Sushumalata Kushwaha. Bhagwan Singh Kushwaha was the candidate from Chirag Paswan's party.

Lanterns also lit in Shahpur: In the last assembly elections, the Shahpur seat went to the Rashtriya Janata Dal. RJD candidate Rahul Tiwari defeated BJP candidate Munni Devi.
