ARA---------------------------The team of the excise department caught a luxury car near Daulatpur over bridge in Mufassil police station area on Buxar-Patna four line. During investigation, 386 liters of foreign liquor was recovered from the luxury car. Police arrested two smugglers from the spot. The liquor was being smuggled from Uttar Pradesh to Bhojpur.

Assistant Commissioner (Prohibition) Rajneesh said that on the orders of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania, the prohibition department is continuously conducting raids against illegal liquor in the district. In this sequence, he received secret information that a large quantity of foreign liquor is being taken to Bhojpur from Uttar Pradesh in a Mahindra XUV car.

A team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Prakash Chandra by Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition. On checking a light coloured Mahindra XUV car near Daulatpur Overbridge on Buxar-Patna Fourlane, (Thana-Ara Mufassil, District-Bhojpur), a large quantity of illegal foreign liquor was recovered from inside the car.

The registration number of Bihar was found on the car. The driver of the car, Shekhar Kumar, son of Sanjay Prasad, resident of New Sheetal Tola Mohalla of Nawada police station area and Abhishek Kumar Rai, son of Sanjay Rai, resident of Rajapur village under Simri police station of Buxar district were arrested. Both have been handed over to the court for further action.

A total of 386.400 liters of liquor in 1104 pieces has been recovered from the said vehicle. The market value of the seized liquor was estimated to be around 5 lakhs. The seized liquor was being brought to Bhojpur from Uttar Pradesh. The raiding team included Inspector Prakash Chandra, Sub-Inspector Shivam Kumar Jha, Assistant Sub-Inspector Rajkumar Raja, and Assistant Sub-Inspector Ravi Kumar, along with Prohibition Constable, SAP, and Home Guard personnel.
