GANGA EROSION BEGINS IN JAWAINIYA OF SHAHPUR

ARA------------------------Due to the unexpected rise in the water level of the Ganga river, erosion has started in Jawainiya village of Shahpur block of Bhojpur district due to the rising waves of the Ganga. However, there has been no loss of life or property in this incident. Despite the anti-erosion work, erosion continues, which has exposed the anti-erosion work being done by the government. Due to the erosion of the Ganga last year, 65 houses were swept away by the Ganga. The regional administration says that land has been identified in Bahoranpur Uttarwar Mauja, yet people are camping at the Jawainiya erosion site. CO Rashmi Sagar said that a letter from the government has come that the people of Jawainia should leave the village and take shelter elsewhere. Despite this, the people there are not doing so. Panchayat's social worker Dinesh Yadav said that the process of erosion is going on. He said that the anti-erosion work should have been done up to a hundred feet higher.
