ARA--------------------------18th death anniversary of cooperative stalwart and former MP Ajit Singh was organised in the auditorium of Hotel Madhuvan. In which thousands of people from all sections of society reached with Shabd Kirtan and paid homage by offering flowers on the oil painting of cooperative stalwart and former MP Ajit Singh. The death anniversary started with Puja Archana by late Ajit Singh's wife, former MP Meena Singh, and then homage was paid by offering garlands and flowers on his oil painting. After that, all the people present paid homage to their beloved leader by offering flowers. After paying floral tribute, the speakers threw light on his personality and deeds and said that in 1988 when the then government had almost killed the cooperative sector, co-operative giant Ajit Singh led the struggle with the people of the cooperative sector and fought in the court as well and won the battle against the government as well as the court, as a result of which the cooperative sector got its respect back and the people of the cooperative sector got the right to choose their representative and in the year 2003, the people of the cooperative sector chose their representative through elections and that process is continuing till date. Co-operative giant Ajit Singh, along with being the chairman of the Land Development Bank, took the cooperative sector to a higher level by adorning all the national high positions in the cooperative sector including the chairman of NAFED, NCCF. In the year 2004, he was elected as an MP for the Lok Sabha and there too he did many works for the development of his area. His untimely demise in the year 2007 caused an irreparable loss to the cooperative world and the world of politics. In the year 2008 by-election, his wife Meena Singh won the election from his Lok Sabha constituency Vikramganj and became MP and again in the 2009 general election, she won the election from Ara Lok Sabha constituency and became MP.

Today his son Vishal Singh is carrying forward his legacy and is adorning the post of Biscoman Chairman as well as National President of NCCF and Board of Directors of NAFED. Along with always working to take the cooperative sector to a higher level, he is also determined to fulfill the dreams and unfinished works of his ancestors, grandfather and father with a firm resolve for the welfare of farmers. On the death anniversary of cooperative giant former MP Ajit Singh, thousands of people from all sections of the society reached and paid tribute to their beloved leader by offering floral tributes.
