ARA--------------------------Prashant Kishore's party, Jan Suraj, is having a rough time. While the party suffered a crushing defeat in the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraj candidate died on the day of the results, causing a wave of grief among his supporters.
On Friday, November 14th, the day of the Bihar Assembly election results, Jan Suraj candidate from the Tarari Assembly constituency, Chandrashekhar Singh, died of a heart attack. In fact, Jan Suraj candidate Chandrashekhar Singh suffered a sudden heart attack on October 31st during the election campaign. He was rushed to a hospital in Patna, but passed away on the day of the results. His opponents and supporters are mourning the death of Jan Suraj candidate Chandrashekhar Singh.
It is worth noting that Chandrashekhar Singh was a retired head teacher. He was a resident of Kurmuri village in Bhojpur. He was known in his area as "Master Saheb." He enjoyed considerable social prestige in the area. However, this was his first time contesting elections. He had a reputation as a militant teacher leader. He was an active member of the Teachers' Union and also served as the state president of the Brahmarshi Samaj. He wielded considerable influence in the area. He belonged to the Bhumihar caste.
His family includes two sons, Engineer Anjali Kishore Singh and Gyanu Kumar Singh, and a daughter, Archana. Upon receiving the news of his passing, his family was inconsolable.
