FILTH AND GARBAGE EARN BAD NAME FOR THE ARA RAILWAY STATION

ARA---------------------------Ara railway station under the Danapur rail division of the East Central Railway (ECR), Hajipur, the pride and main entrance of Bhojpur district has become a centre of plethora of problems for passengers these days due to dirt and stench.

Passengers from outside get disturbed by the garbage thrown in a haphazard manner near the goods warehouse and the spread of rotten stench as soon as they get down at the railway station.

Locals say that every day some people throw domestic and commercial garbage in the open around the railway goods warehouse which not only spreads foul smell but also increases the risk of mosquitoes and diseases. Due to this, the image of the station is becoming like a dirty and neglected place.

Railway station is a place which reflects the identity and image of the district. if the first scene itself is full of dirt, the reputation of the district is directly damaged.

The people demanded that the goods warehouse are should be cleaned regularly with the joint responsibility of the railway administration and the AMC. Those who throw garbage should be identified through the CCTV footage and fined. A permanent garbage disposal centre or dust bin zone should be built there and cleanliness drive should be conducted in collaboration with local social organizations and railways.

They said that if Ara is to be presented as a clean, beautiful and respectable town, it is extremely important to improve the condition of the railway station.
