ARA-----------------------Police have solved the murder mystery of sweet shop owner Pramod Mahato and his son, residents of Kasap village in the Udwantnagar police station area, in the Mufussil police station area. Two accused, including the conspirator and shooter, have been arrested. They include Suraj Kumar, a resident of Karisath village in the Gajrajganj OP area, and Dwarika Sharma, a resident of Bahiro village in the Nawada police station area.

The two were arrested from their villages on Monday evening by a special team formed by Superintendent of Police Raj. Dwarika Sharma, a neighbor of sweet shop owner Pramod Mahato, is the main accused and conspirator in the murder. He contracted Suraj Kumar to murder the shopkeeper and his son, Priyanshu, for four lakh rupees, with one lakh rupees paid as advance. Six accused were involved in the murder. Raids are underway to arrest four others. This information was given by Sadar SDPO Forest Raj Kumar Sah at a press conference on Tuesday. He stated that on Friday morning, the bodies of Pramod Mahato, a resident of Kasap village, and his son Priyanshu, who lived and ran a sweet shop in the Pianiya market of Udwantnagar, near Belgat village in the Mufussil police station area, were found after they had been murdered and discarded. Based on the statement of Pramod Kumar's elder son, Himanshu Kumar, an FIR was lodged against unknown individuals. Superintendent of Police Raj formed an SIT under the leadership of Sadar SDPO (One) to solve the case and arrest the criminals involved.

Based on technical investigation and collected evidence, the team solved the case and arrested two main accused. The raid included Mufussil Station House Officer (SHO) Puni Deepak Kumar, Inspectors Dharmendra Kumar Rai and Divyalata Kumari, along with officers and personnel from the DIG.

The police investigation revealed that the sweet shop owner Pramod Kumar and his son were murdered due to an extramarital affair. Sadar SDPO (Forest) Raj Kumar Sah stated in a press conference on Tuesday that the families of Pramod Mahato, a resident of Kasap village, and Dwarika Sharma, a resident of Bahiro, had lived together for many years. The two families were very close. Besides Bahiro, they had also built a home together in Pianiya Bazaar. Meanwhile, Dwarika Sharma and Pramod Mahato's wife had developed a cordial relationship. Other disputes were also being reported. Due to this dispute, Dwarika Sharma hatched a plot to eliminate Pramod Mahato. Suraj Kumar and other shooters were hired for four lakh rupees. As part of the plan, Pramod Mahato was called on the evening of Thursday, October 30th, on the pretext of a money transaction. Pramod Mahato arrived with his son, Priyanshu. Both were subsequently murdered. SDPO Raj Kumar Sah stated that the arrested Suraj Kumar has a prior criminal history and has two cases registered against him under the Arms Act at the Gajraj Ganj OP. Pramod Mahato, a resident of Kasap village, who runs a sweet shop in Pianiya market of Udwantnagar police station area, left home on Thursday evening with his son Priyanshu. When both did not return home till late evening, a search was started. In the same sequence, on Friday morning, the bodies of both were recovered near Nat Baba place in Belghat village. Both were shot dead. Pramod Mahato's throat was also slit. It is being told that the marriage of Pramod Mahato's elder son Himanshu was fixed. His engagement took place on 29 October. On 31 October, they were going to the girl's house with the engagement. Meanwhile, Pramod Kumar and his younger son Priyanshu were murdered.
