RAJIV NAYAN AGRAWAL

ARA-------------------------The Sub-Divisional Officer sent a letter to the Chief Minister requesting compensation for their crop damage. Farmers arrived at the Sub-Divisional Officer's office with rotten paddy.

An 11-member delegation of farmers submitted a letter through the Sub-Divisional Officer, Jagdishpur, demanding compensation of ₹50,000 per acre for farmers' crop damage assessment. It is unfortunate that a team has not been formed to assess farmers' crop damage even after 20 days in an agriculturally rich country.

The Sub-Divisional Officer, Jagdishpur, told the farmers that he was sending the letter today. Within three days, teams of Sub-Divisional Agriculture Officers and Block Agriculture Officers would be formed and sent to every village. The farmers' crop damage assessment would be conducted and the government-determined compensation for crop damage would be provided within a month. If an investigation is not conducted soon, there will be protests.

A list of 200 villages in the Jagdishpur Assembly constituency was submitted to the Sub-Divisional Officer. In the Jagdishpur Assembly constituency alone, crops worth crores of rupees have been destroyed on over 1000 acres.
