Motorcycle borne three armed miscreants shot dead an engineer near Bus Stand No 1 at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station in the morning and also injured his friend and fled away from the scene. Police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured in a Private Nursing Home. The police also recovered five blank cartridges and a bullet from the spot.

ARA--------------------------Motorcycle borne three armed miscreants shot dead an engineer near Bus Stand No 1 at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station in the morning and also injured his friend and fled away from the scene. Police recovered the body and brought it to the Ara Sadar Hospital for postmortem and admitted the injured in a Private Nursing Home. The police also recovered five blank cartridges and a bullet from the spot. An FIR has been lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard against eight persons including Bhola Yadav, Ankit Yadav and Jugesh Yadav on the statement of the deceased’s uncle Suresh Singh . Police are investigating the matter and also conducting raids to arrest the miscreants. Old land dispute is said to be cause behind the incident. A team of Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) also reached the spot.

SHO Udwantnagar police station Jayant Prakash said that Dharmendra Kumar 32 son of Awadhesh Singh of Pawar village under Pawana police station in Bhojpur district was an engineer and the injured was Raju Kumar 30 son of Ram Suresh Singh of the same village and he worked in a private company in Mumbai in Maharashtra. Raju Kumar was to go to Mumbai from Patliputra Express and so he along with his friend Dharmendra Kumar and his eight year old son Rishabh Kumar was going to the Ara Railway Station on a motorcycle to catch the train and when he reached near Bus Stand No 1 at Belaur village under Udwantnagar police station, motorcycle borne three armed miscreants came and started firing indiscriminately in which Dharmendra Kumar received bullet injuries and succumbed on spot and he was also injured.

The injured Raju Kumar said that the deceased Dharmendra Kumar had a rivalry with Bhola Yadav of the village over a piece of land for the last some years and the outcome of the rivalry was the murder of Dharmendra Kumar. He said that Dharmendra Kumar’s uncle Congress Yadav was also killed earlier on the same issue and after some months, Pintu Yadav of Bhola Yadav side was also murdered in retaliatory action. FIRs were lodged with the police under Udwantnagar police station in this regard by both the parties though the matter was reconciled six months ago.
