DELHI--------------------------Kathmandu airport was closed after violence in Nepal. Due to this, a large number of Indians are stranded. Around 7 lakh Indians live here. Apart from this, the number of Indians coming for sightseeing is also quite high. Information has been received about 400 people being stranded at Kathmandu airport alone. India is in constant touch with the Nepali Army to bring these people back. Apart from this, people have been asked to contact the embassy.

The Indian government has also issued emergency helpline numbers. The Indian embassy is contacting the people present there. Indian citizens can call +977-9808602881 and +977-9810326134 and seek help. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal has given this information. Vigilance has been increased on the borders of all the states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Uttarakhand, West Bengal adjoining Nepal. Only Indians are being allowed to come inside the border.

Truck drivers informed about the situation. They said that they are stuck at the border for hours. Many trucks are loaded with petrol and diesel. Many people are also stuck at the border, who come to India for work during the day and go back in the evening.

An Indian woman had made an urgent appeal for help and rescue amid the protests of Generation-G. The woman's name is Upasana Gill, who had gone to Nepal for a volleyball tournament. Upasana told that her hotel was set on fire by the mob, due to which she had to leave her luggage and run away. She said that she barely escaped from the mob that was chasing her with big sticks. The current crisis in Nepal started after the ban on social media on 4 September 2025. 'Gen G' youth took to the streets and resorted to violence, arson and protests. The demonstration quickly turned into a widespread movement against the government's corruption and lack of accountability. After this, many ministers including the President and the Prime Minister resigned.

The ban on all social media including YouTube, WhatsApp, Facebook has been lifted, but the anger of the youth is not ending. The Nepali Army has taken control of the entire situation. Opinion polls are being conducted through online voting to form an interim government. The youth of Nepal have participated in it enthusiastically. The names of former judge Sushila Karki and former mayor Balen Shah are at the top. India has also expressed serious concern over the situation in Nepal. Several steps have been taken to ensure the safety of Indian citizens present there. The Ministry of External Affairs has issued an advisory asking citizens to stay in touch with the embassy. So far 30 people, including three security personnel, have been reported killed in violent protests in Nepal. This movement of Nepal got the support of about 3 crore people. At present, there is peace in many places including Kathmandu. But sporadic violence is taking place in remote areas.
