ECI APPROVES TRANFER/POSTING OF OFFICIALS FOLLOWING MOKAMA INCIDENT

PATNA------------------------The Election Commission of India has approved the transfer and posting of officers with immediate effect in connection with the Bihar Legislative Assembly Elections, 2025. This action has been taken in reference to the Chief Electoral Officer, Bihar's letter No. M-01-MCC (Instructions)/2025-5402 dated 01.11.2025, in which a list of officers was sent for replacement of currently posted officers in connection with 178-Mokama AC (Assembly Constituency). Disciplinary Action: The Commission has directed that disciplinary proceedings be initiated against the three officers mentioned in column (2) and reported to the Commission as soon as possible.

• Suspension of Mr. Abhishek Singh: Additionally, Mr. Abhishek Singh, SDPO, Barh-2 (Barh-2) may also be suspended with immediate effect.

• Transfer of Mr. Vikram Sihag: The Commission further directed that Mr. Vikram Sihag, Superintendent of Police (Rural), Patna, may also be transferred. A panel of officers for his replacement should be sent immediately and expeditiously.

It is also directed that a compliance report be submitted to the Commission by 12:00 noon on November 2, 2025. The letter is signed by Arvind Anand, Principal Secretary.
