PATNA-------------------------Amid tensions arising from a clash between supporters of two candidates in the Ghoswari Tal area of ​​the Mokama Assembly Constituency in Patna district on October 30, 2025, Mr. Dular Chandra Yadav, a Jan Suraj supporter, was found dead under suspicious circumstances. This incident has heightened political tensions in the area.

Separate cases have been registered in this serious matter. The police have arrested several accused so far, and other suspects are being thoroughly interrogated.

The District Magistrate, Patna, and the Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, are continuously monitoring the situation in the Barh-Mokama area.

According to the police administration, the situation in the area is currently under control and peaceful.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Bhadaur and Station House Officer (SHO) of Ghoswari have been suspended with immediate effect for laxity in enforcing the Model Code of Conduct.

In this regard, Mr. Kartikeya K. Sharma, Senior Superintendent of Police, Patna, stated in a press statement that the police are investigating the matter from every angle and are taking all possible steps to maintain law and order.

“We have taken immediate action and made several arrests and deployed adequate forces in the area. Strict action will be taken against those who create any kind of anarchy. The situation is now completely under control.”

The district administration has expressed concern over the spread of misleading and rumor-mongering information on social media. The general public has been appealed not to pay heed to such rumours and to rely only on official sources of the local administration for confirmation of any information. After this incident, security arrangements have been increased in the Mokama area so that any untoward incident can be prevented during the assembly elections and the election process can be conducted in a fair and peaceful manner.
