DRAINAGE CONSTRUCTION IN AHIRAULI BECOMES ROOT OF CONTROVERSY

BUXAR----------------------------Major negligence has come to light during the drainage construction in Ahirauli Ward No. 38 of the Municipal Council area. Three houses collapsed due to sudden strong vibrations during the construction work. No human casualties have been reported in this accident, but the death of four cattle has been confirmed. After the incident, there was chaos in the entire area, and people were gripped by fear.

According to local residents, the Municipal Council was carrying out drainage construction in the ward. During this process, deep excavation was being done with a backhoe loader. The strong vibrations generated during the excavation weakened the nearby houses, and they collapsed in no time. Fortunately, no one was inside the houses when they collapsed, otherwise, there could have been a major loss of life and property.

After the accident, cracks have also appeared in several other houses in the vicinity, creating an atmosphere of fear among the people. The affected families say that the construction work is being carried out without adhering to standards and without adopting safety measures, and ordinary people are bearing the brunt of it.

It is noteworthy that the drainage construction in Ahirauli has already been the root of controversy. A few months ago, a violent clash took place between local villagers and the contractor over the construction work, in which a woman was seriously injured. During that incident, the industrial police also recovered live cartridges. However, later, there were also discussions that the contractor had used his influence to suppress the matter.

After the incident, the affected families have demanded that the administration quickly assess the damaged houses and provide adequate compensation, and also ensure proper safety arrangements before further construction work. Meanwhile, the Municipal Council is saying that it will investigate the matter and take necessary action.
