ARA------------------------------Every year 27th July is a day full of emotions for Indians. This is the day to remember the great scientist, teacher and President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, who not only took India's defense and science sector to new heights, but also gave a new direction to the dreams of crores of youth.
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was born on 15 October 1931 in a fisherman family in Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. Kalam sahab, who grew up in difficult circumstances, never compromised in his studies. He studied Aeronautical Engineering from Madras Institute of Technology.
Dr. Kalam is called the “Missile Man of India”. He worked in the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and gave India the power of missiles like Agni, Prithvi, Trishul. He played a decisive role in the Pokhran-II nuclear test in 1998, which made India a nuclear power.
