DELHI---------------------------Executive order to be implemented in two phases in which 25 percent additional tariff has been imposed on India in response to continuous purchase of Russian oil. With this, now the tariff on goods imported from India has increased to 50 percent.*
US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order in which 25 percent additional tariff has been imposed on India in response to continuous purchase of Russian oil. With this, now the tariff on goods imported from India has increased to 50 percent.
This tariff will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, 25 percent tariff will be implemented on goods imported from India from August 7, while additional tariff will be implemented from August 27.
President Trump has taken this step a day after warning of imposing heavy tariff on India on Tuesday. Trump says that it is possible to change it according to the reaction of any country. He said, "I have received additional information from various senior officials regarding, among other things, the actions of the Russian Federation government with respect to the situation in Ukraine.
After considering this additional information, I continue to believe that the national emergency described in Executive Order 14066 continues and that the actions and policies of the Russian Federation government continue to pose an unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States."
