ARA----------------------A briefing was organized with the deputed magistrates and police officers under the chairmanship of District Magistrate Tanay Sultania in the Collectorate Auditorium on Wednesday to maintain peace and law and order on the occasion of Chehlum and Shri Krishna Janmashtami festivals and to promote mutual harmony between the two communities.

A total of 169 magistrates/police officers and a large number of police force have been deputed by the district administration to maintain law and order and peace. During the briefing, the District Magistrate said that the festival of Chehlum will be celebrated on 14 and 15 August 2025 and the festival of Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated on 16 August 2025.

On the occasion of Chehlum, people of the Muslim community mourn, recite the Quran and in some places processions are also taken out with Tazia-Nishan like Moharram. On the day of Shri Krishna Janmashtami, people of Hindu community organize worship and celebration programs in temples till late night, due to which there is a crowd in temples and roads and idols of Lord Krishna are also installed at many places.

The District Magistrate instructed the deputed magistrate and police officers to take strict action against anti-social, mischievous, communal, fundamentalist and rumor-mongering elements during both the festivals. Also, all the Sub-Divisional Officers and Sub-Divisional Police Officers were instructed to ensure continuous police patrolling at sensitive and important places, compliance of government guidelines on DJ and loudspeakers in Visarjan/Pahalam procession, mandatory videography of the procession and arrangement of escort in front and behind.

Instructions for special cleanliness of procession and temple routes and repair of roads were given to the Municipal Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, all Executive Officers Nagar Panchayat and Nagar Parishad. Instructions to check and repair the electric wires on temple routes were given to the Executive Engineer, Electricity Supply Division Ara and Jagdishpur.

The military surgeon-cum-chief medical officer Bhojpur was instructed to ensure the availability of life saving medicines, paramedical staff, doctors and ambulances in all the primary health centers, sub-divisional hospitals, referral hospitals and Sadar Hospital, Ara during the festival.
