DINARA SHAKEN BY THE FIRE, POLICE STATION VANDALIZED

SASARAM-------------------------The police, which controls the criminals, itself became helpless in front of the miscreants. On Thursday, in Velvaiya village of Dinara police station area, a minor land dispute over paddy transplantation took a monstrous form, the brunt of which had to be borne by Dinara police station. The angry mob, tearing apart the law and order, not only attacked the police station, but also pelted stones and vandalized the policemen.

The matter started over plowing of land. In Velvaiya village, one party was getting its land plowed for paddy transplantation, but the other party was strongly opposing it. This dispute that started in the village soon turned violent. People of the opposing party gathered in large numbers and their anger flared up to such an extent that they reached Dinara police station directly.

The furious mob that reached the police station started pelting stones without thinking anything. The chaos was such that the rioters not only entered the police station premises and vandalised it, but also badly damaged two police vehicles. Police officers and jawans tried to stop the mob, but they themselves got injured. In this attack, SDPO Bikramganj Kumar Sanjay, Police Inspector Sher Singh Yadav and many other policemen have been injured.

This incident has once again proved that some sections of the general public have no respect left for law and order. Choosing the path of stone pelting and violence at the police station to express their views shows that people have forgotten their rights as well as their duties and responsibilities. Will their land issue be resolved by attacking the police station? Probably not. Such foolish acts only increase chaos in the society.

After this shameful incident, police force from the entire district has been deployed in Dinara. The police is engaged in identifying the rioters and arresting them. While this incident has raised questions on the preparedness of the police, it has also made it clear that those who take the law into their own hands will not be spared. It remains to be seen whether the police will learn a lesson from this incident and be prepared to deal with such a situation in the future or will it keep waiting for similar incidents?
