PATNA------------------------There is a huge shortage of rehab professionals not only in Mauritius but also in all African countries and western countries. There is a huge demand for physiotherapists, occupational therapists and speech therapists. If such experts from India go there, they will get a lot of respect and honorarium as well. Global Rainbow Foundation also needs such experts in large numbers.

These things were said by Mauritius' former education minister and director of UNESCO, Arumugam Parasuraman, while giving his lecture on the topic "Prospects of Rehab Professionals Around the World" at the Indian Institute of Health Education and Research, Beur. He said that his Global Foundation itself needs dozens of such experts. For this, attractive packages will be given along with better residential facilities.

Mr. Parasuraman requested the Institute's Director-in-Chief Dr. Anil Sulabh to start sending his trained therapists from next month itself. He also requested to establish the Institute's Mauritius campus, so that skilled rehabilitation experts can be prepared there too. Arrangements should also be made so that students can receive education and training in both the campuses in turn. Students from there can do internship here and students from here can do internship there.

After the lecture, after the discussion between Dr. Anil Sulabh and Mr. Parasuraman, it was decided that a team of trained rehabilitation experts will be sent to Mauritius every six months from the month of October. All the experts will get residential facility along with a monthly stipend of about one lakh rupees, which can be increased later. Rainbow Foundation will also provide financial assistance for rehabilitation and training of the disabled of Bihar.

The Institute's Director-in-Chief Dr. Sulabh greeted Mr. Parasuraman by giving him Ang-Vastram and expressed gratitude for the motivating lecture of the students. In the beginning, the Institute's Student Welfare Faculty Chairman and Advocate Ahsaas Manikant welcomed the guests. The stage was managed by senior Physiotherapist student Niharika Kumar. On this occasion, Prof Mukesh Kumar Ojha, Prof Madhumala, Prof Chandra Abha, Prof Santosh Kumar Singh, Administrative Officer Subedar Sanjay Kumar and a large number of Institute's faculty and students were present.
