CM NITISH KUMAR LAYS THE FOUNDATION STONE OF ‘SHANKARA EYE HOSPITAL’

PATNA----------------------------Chief Minister Shri Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone of R. Jhunjhunwala Shankara Eye Hospital, Patna at Kankarbagh. The Bhoomi Pujan of this state-of-the-art eye hospital, to be built on the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, was also performed in the presence of the Chief Minister. This hospital is expected to be ready by December 2026.

During the foundation stone laying ceremony, a short film based on the journey of the 48-year-old R. Jhunjhunwala Shankara Eye Hospital was screened. Through the presentation, the hospital management gave detailed information to the Chief Minister about the design of the new hospital building, the facilities to be provided for patients and doctors, state-of-the-art testing machines and operation theaters.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister said that the government has been trying from the beginning to improve health services in the state, so that no patient has to go out of Bihar for treatment. He expressed confidence that with the construction of this new eye hospital, people will get more advanced health services.

Many dignitaries and senior officials including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, Water Resources cum Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Health Minister Mangal Pandey were present at the program. The hospital management welcomed the Chief Minister by presenting him a shawl and a memento. This initiative is an important step towards strengthening eye health services in Bihar.
