PATNA-----------------------Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today laid the foundation stone, inaugurated and dedicated 17 schemes costing Rs 1159 crore 84 lakhs, announced during the Pragati Yatra in Patna district.

These include the inauguration of Laxman Jhula cable suspension bridge built at Punpun Pinddan Sthal, RCC bridge and approach road on Punpun river under Paliganj block and construction of road from Punpun station to the auxiliary road connecting Patna Ring Road, development of tourist facilities at Ular Surya Mandir in Paliganj and connecting Sohagi Mor to Patna-Gaya Road with a 2-lane road. Along with this, construction of power substations, new lines, expansion of capacity of transformers in power substations, reconductoring of lines, construction of BGCL double circuit transmission line, construction of 'bay' and renovation and modernization work of Khagaul grid substation etc. are also included.

The Chief Minister said that the implementation of these schemes will strengthen the power supply structure, tourist facilities will develop in the district and the traffic system will become more smooth, which will benefit the people a lot.

He also interacted with the beneficiaries of Social Security Pension Scheme, Jeevika Didi, electricity consumers and beneficiaries of other schemes in Punpun today.
