PATNA------------------------- Bihar has become the first state in the country, where the number of voters at all polling stations will be less than 1200. With this historic decision of the Election Commission, voters will no longer have to stand in long lines to cast their votes. For this change, 12,817 new polling stations have been created in the state, increasing the total number of centers to 90,712. This step will make the election process more convenient and accessible.
Meanwhile, the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Bihar has released a list of 29.62 lakh voters whose forms have not been received back yet. Also, there are 43.93 lakh voters who are not present at their addresses. The Election Commission has sought help from all 12 major political parties in this matter. The parties have been asked to contact these voters
through their district presidents and about 1.5 lakh booth level agents (BLAs) so that no eligible voter is left out of the list.
From August 1, 2025, the general public will also get a chance to add, delete or correct names in the draft voter list. One month's time has been given for this. This step of the Election Commission is an important initiative towards making the entire electoral process transparent and inclusive.
