BHOJPUR DM FLAGGED OFF THE PROMOTIONAL VEHICLE UNDER THE ‘DISASTER RISK PUBLIC AWARENESS PROGRAMME’

ARA--------------------------Pre-disaster public awareness campaign was started in Shahpur and Badhara blocks under the "Disaster Risk Public Awareness Program" under the joint aegis of District Administration, Bhojpur and Bihar State Disaster Management Authority, Patna. This campaign was inaugurated by District Magistrate Tanay Sultania by flagging off the promotional vehicle from the Collectorate premises. On this occasion, the District Magistrate said that "It is better to prepare in advance than to panic at the time of disaster. This campaign will make the villagers aware and will give them basic information about disaster management and prepare them for quick response. The training being given by the expert teams of SDRF will have a big impact at the ground level." He appealed to the general public to join this initiative in maximum numbers and strengthen this chain of awareness. Under this campaign, four specially trained SDRF teams – Team A, B, C, and D – have been formed, which are going from village to village and providing information about disaster prevention, quick response, first aid and safe places. Promotional vehicles, sound systems, microphones and live demo kits are being used to make the campaign effective. The campaign is being monitored by the officer in charge of the District Disaster Management Branch, Bhojpur.

The District Administration Bhojpur has appealed to all the citizens to actively participate in this campaign and make their family and society aware of disaster.
