AWARENESS PROGRAMME ORGANIZED AGAINST DRUG ABUSE

BHABHUA---------------------------On the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, an awareness program was organized at Lichchhavi Bhawan, Bhabua, in which students from various schools, scout-guide units and Ambedkar hostel of the district participated enthusiastically. The program was inaugurated by Deputy Development Commissioner Surya Pratap Singh. On this occasion, Secretary of District Legal Services Authority Suman Saurabh was also present, who informed the children about the law and their rights. Assistant Director of Child Protection Unit, Mr. Rajan Kumar informed the children about the functioning and importance of Child Helpline 1098. Clinical Psychologist of Sadar Hospital Bhabua, Dr. Bhavna Gupta gave detailed information about the ill effects of drug abuse and the mental and physical diseases associated with it. School students participating in the program also presented their views on de-addiction. +2 High School students Shyamji Pathak, Akash Kumar, Shreyansh Kumar, and Madhya Vidyalaya Gawai students Harshika Kumari and Baby Kumari gave impressive speeches as representatives of Scout-Guide. In this programme organised by District Social Security Cell, Kaimur, a short film on the subject of drug eradication was also screened, which deeply influenced the people present. In his motivational address, Deputy Development Commissioner Surya Pratap Singh said, "When any thing in the world starts using you, it becomes fatal for you. Drugs also do the same - they start controlling you, that is why they are fatal." This programme proved to be a successful and commendable initiative in the direction of creating awareness against drug addiction in the public and giving the right direction to the youth.
