ARA ASSEMBLY ELECTION RESULTS (2015 AND 2020)

ARA------------------------The 2015 Bihar Assembly elections saw a close contest in the Arrah seat. RJD candidate Mohammad Nawaz Alam won by defeating BJP veteran Amarendra Pratap Singh by just 666 votes.

Mohammad Nawaz Alam (RJD) – 70,004 votes (44.94%)

Amarendra Pratap Singh (BJP) – 69,338 votes (44.51%)

Qayyumuddin Ansari (CPI-ML) – 5,035 votes (3.23%)

This result went in favor of the Grand Alliance, and the RJD captured the seat.

In 2020, the Arrah seat was again contested, but this time the BJP prevailed. Amarendra Pratap Singh (BJP) won by defeating CPI(ML) Liberation candidate Qayyumuddin Ansari by 3,002 votes.

Amarendra Pratap Singh (BJP) – 71,781 votes (45.05%)

Qaimuddin Ansari (CPI-ML) – 68,779 votes (43.17%)

In this election, the RJD lost, and the contest became a direct contest between the BJP and the Left Front (CPI-ML).

2015: The RJD defeated the BJP by a narrow margin.

2020: The BJP regained the seat, but faced a tough fight from the CPI(ML).

In other words, the contest in the Ara seat has always been fierce, and the voters here have repeatedly shifted the balance of power.
