It is noteworthy that Ankit and Ranjan are cousins who have been found involved in the case.

Police arrested Pankaj Rai alias Satyajit Rai, a resident of Ward 5, Shahpur Nagar, and Ankit Yadav, a resident of Ward 10, and remanded them to judicial custody. The arrests occurred early on the morning of September 13th, when police received information that a large cache of weapons was hidden in two houses in the Shahpur police station area. Following a tip-off, a joint team of the Special Task Force (STF) and Bhojpur Police immediately conducted a raid and recovered a large cache of weapons.
During the raid, a box was recovered from Pankaj Rai's home in Ward No. 5, Shahpur. When police searched the box, they discovered an AK-47 rifle hidden under a mattress. Additionally, police seized a 7.62 mm pistol, several rounds of ammunition, another loaded magazine, a mobile phone, SIM cards, and some incriminating documents. Five dangerous weapons, including a thimble, were recovered from Ankit Yadav's home.
A total of 76 cartridges and five magazines were recovered from both homes. Police are extracting CDRs from the three seized mobile phones to trace their connections. The process of identifying and arresting other suspects involved in the case has been expedited. Continuous raids are being conducted to curb illegal arms trade and criminal activity in the district.
