On Thursday, during the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) vaccination campaign in Madhya Vidyalaya Pawani of Cheesa block, a dozen girl students suddenly fainted, which created panic. While this unexpected incident increased the concern of the school administration and the health department, an atmosphere of fear and confusion was created among the family members and local people. According to the information, a special vaccination camp was organized in the school to give HPV vaccine to adolescent girls in the age group of 9 to 14 years. During this, as soon as some girl students took the vaccine, they started showing symptoms like uneasiness, dizziness and nervousness. Within no time, about a dozen girl students fainted, due to which a stampede situation was created in the school premises. On getting information about the incident, former District Council member Dr. Manoj Kumar Yadav immediately reached the school and made arrangements to send the unconscious girl students to Cheesa Community Health Center (CHC). At the same time, the health department team also reached the school and started controlling the situation.

After first aid at Cheesa CHC, the condition of all the students is said to be normal. Doctors said that the students fainted due to nervousness and mental stress. The affected students include Karishma Kumari, Rekha, Parvati, Sakshi, Lakshmi Kumari, Nidhi, Ruby, Rishni, Bindu, Khushboo and Dunni. Some of these students said that a few minutes after getting the vaccine, they started feeling intense heat and dizziness, then they could not remember anything.

As soon as the news of the students fainting spread, their relatives reached the hospital in large numbers. For some time, there was an atmosphere of chaos in the hospital premises. However, the situation was brought under control due to the promptness of the doctors and the police force.

The administration has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident and said that if negligence is found at any level, action will be taken. Also, parents were appealed not to panic, but to understand the importance of vaccination and cooperate.

Seeing the seriousness of the incident, District Immunization Officer Dr. Vinod Pratap Singh himself reached the spot and started investigating the entire process of the vaccination campaign. He told that a total of 92 girl students were given HPV vaccine. As soon as one girl student became ill, fear and panic spread among other girls, due to which psychological reaction was seen in some girls.

Dr. Singh said that HPV vaccine is completely safe and effective. This vaccine is given to adolescent girls aged 9 to 14 years to protect them from cervical cancer. He told that such incidents often happen due to mental pressure and social fear, not due to the quality of the vaccine or error in the process.

After this incident, an atmosphere of fear has been created among the local people regarding vaccination. However, experts believe that vaccination is extremely important from a health point of view and there is no need to panic, but to move ahead wisely. The Health Department says that in the coming days, a public awareness campaign will be conducted to tell people about the usefulness and safety of the vaccine, so that such misconceptions can be removed.
