ADJ VI AWARDS RIGOROUS LIFE IMPRISONMENT

ARA-----------------------Additional District and Session Judge VI cum Special Judge POSCO Ashutosh Kumar awarded rigorous life imprisonment to Durga Devi and also slapped a fine of Rs. 40,000 on her in connection with murder of a teenage girl.

Special Public Prosecutor, POSCO Saroj Kumari said that a teenage girl under Tier police station area had gone to her school on March 5, 2023 on picnic and when she did not return home, her family members became anxious and frantically started searching her everywhere but in vain. Meanwhile, they knew that another teenage boy had taken her to him home and when the family member went there, they found the girl in unconscious state and some injury marks were found on her body and her face was also burnt. The teenage boy confessed that he had outraged her modesty. The injured girl was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. A named FIR was lodged with the police under Tier police station in this regard. The case of the teenage boy and the girl was sent to the Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) for trial.

After hearing both the parties, the court awarded rigorous life imprisonment to the main culprit Durga Devi and also slapped a fine of Rs. 40,000 on her.
