According to information, the deceased was Ranjan Pal, 30, son of Lalbabu Pal, a resident of Vimwan village, under the Jagdishpur police station area. He was a shepherd.

Meanwhile, the deceased's nephew, Ajit Jogi, stated that he had gone to Farhada Badhar under the Sinha police station area on Saturday with 70 sheep from his village to graze. While grazing, he reached near Teenmuhan Pokhara in Gyanpur. During the torrential rain, suddenly lightning struck him. Due to which he and 20 sheep accompanying him died on the spot.

After this, his relatives living in the village informed his family about this. After getting the information, the family reached Gyanpur village. After which the police reached the spot, took the body in their custody and got the post-mortem done in Sadar Hospital.

It is said that the deceased was the eldest among his two brothers and one sister. His family consists of his mother Hiramuni Devi, wife Reema Devi, a son Shivam Pal and a daughter Shallu Kumari. After the incident, the mother of the deceased Hiramuni Devi, wife Reema Devi and all the family members are in a bad condition due to crying.
