If the sources are to be believed, the Bihar government may be boasting about fully following and implementing the prohibition laws, but it is negligible on the ground. Every day, the work of catching liquor smugglers and alcoholics is also being done by some administrative officers, but many such cases were also seen, where administrative officers and workers were also found involved in the liquor business or consuming alcohol, not only this, many cases of liquor smuggling have also been solved by putting up press and police boards of the officials.
The answer to this would be that they know it, but someone is afraid of the illegal traders, or is involved himself. If the government figures are to be believed, then liquor ban was implemented in Bihar from 5th April 2016, in 9 years i.e. till April 2025, a total of 190 people have died due to poisonous liquor in Bihar, while many such cases have also been seen where despite deaths due to poisonous liquor, the figures hidden by the people could not be revealed.
At present, in this case, something can be said only after the postmortem report comes, whether the person died due to drinking liquor or due to some other reason.
