BUXAR------------------------65-year-old Mahendra Singh was killed and the bike rider, Vikas Yadav, was seriously injured in a road accident on Sunday evening near Ahiapur village on the Jalhara-Kauwa Khonch main road in the Rajpur police station area. The incident caused panic in the area.

According to reports, Mahendra Singh, a resident of Shyampur village in Rasen Panchayat, and Vikas Yadav, a resident of Bhagatganj village in Rohtas district, were visiting a relative in Ahiapur village. After attending a funeral, they were returning to Jalhara on the same bike. As they left the village, a speeding Bolero coming from Jalhara hit their bike.

The impact was so severe that the bike was damaged and both fell unconscious on the road. Upon seeing the accident, people nearby raised an alarm and a crowd gathered at the scene. Meanwhile, the Bolero driver fled the scene after the accident. Upon receiving information, locals rushed to the scene and, with the help of an ambulance, took the injured to Rajpur CHC. After first aid, both were referred to Sadar Hospital, Buxar, where doctors declared Mahendra Singh dead. Upon receiving information about the incident, the family was devastated, and a pall of gloom descended upon the village. Seriously injured Vikas Yadav has been referred to Varanasi for better treatment. Additional Police Station Officer Shivkumar Mandal stated that the Bolero and the bike have been seized and brought to the police station. The driver is being identified based on the vehicle number. Police are investigating the matter.
