In the Makrain Hurka area under the Dehri subdivision of the district, sand scattered on the road is continuously inviting major accidents. Due to the sand falling from sand-laden vehicles, the road has become slippery, increasing the risk of two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles skidding. Despite this, sand mafia are openly flouting the NGT (National Green Tribunal) rules.

Due to the sand falling from sand-laden vehicles, the road has become slippery, increasing the risk of two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles skidding. Despite this, sand mafia are openly flouting the NGT (National Green Tribunal) rules.
Surprisingly, even after the situation has become serious, the mining department remains a silent spectator. Local people allege that the department is waiting for a major accident to happen, which is why no concrete action has been taken against the ghat operators and sand traders who are violating the rules.
