PATNA--------------------------Criminals in Bihar are now in serious trouble. The police have gone into full action mode, and criminals who flout law and order are now being subjected to encounters. On Thursday, Patna police shot a criminal after chasing him. This is the fourth encounter in Bihar in the last 34 days.
In fact, Patna police shot a criminal accused of extortion after chasing him. The entire incident took place in the Janipur police station area of Patna, where the police opened fire during the encounter. The bullet hit the criminal in the leg, and his accomplice managed to escape.
According to SSP Kartikeya Sharma, the criminal had demanded extortion money from a bank employee and had arrived with the intention of firing shots to intimidate him. The police signaled him to stop, but he started firing at the police team. In retaliation, the police team also opened fire. During this exchange, a bullet hit him in the leg.
The injured criminal has been identified as Rakesh Kumar (36), a resident of Pipra. He fell to the ground after being shot, after which the police arrested him and took him to the hospital for treatment, where he is currently receiving medical care.
