ARA------------------------The Excise Department team recovered 192 liters of foreign liquor from a car near Daulatpur Overbridge of Ara Mufassil police station area on Buxar-Patna four lane. The team arrested the driver of the car from the spot. He is Hans Raj, son of Lalan Prasad, resident of Karanja village under Naubatpur police station of Patna district.

Giving information about this, Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition Rajneesh said that on the orders of DM Tanay Sultania, the Prohibition Department is continuously conducting raids against illegal liquor in the district. In this sequence, he received secret information that a large quantity of foreign liquor is being smuggled from Haryana by car and is going towards Patna via Bhojpur.

A team was formed under the leadership of Inspector Prakash Chandra by the Assistant Commissioner of Prohibition. A white Hyundai Creta car was stopped near Daulatpur Overbridge of Mufassil police station area on Buxar-Patna four lane. On investigation, a large quantity of foreign liquor was recovered from inside the car. The registration number was not found on the car.

The team arrested the driver of the car from the spot. After this, he was handed over to the court for further action. 120 pieces of Johnny Walker Red Label Bladet Scotch Whiskey of 750 ml, 12 pieces of Scotch Whiskey, 60 pieces of Royal Stag Barrel Select Whiskey of 750 ml, 96 pieces of beer of 500 ml were recovered from the said vehicle.

The total liquor is 192 liters in 288 pieces. The market value of the seized liquor was estimated to be around Rs 4 lakh. The liquor was being transported from Haryana to Patna. The raiding team included Inspector Prakash Chandra, Sub Inspector Shivam Kumar Jha, Assistant Sub Inspector Rajkumar Raja, and Assistant Sub Inspector Ravi Kumar along with prohibition constables, SAP and Home Guard personnel.
