SASARAM-----------------------The Gaya team, along with the local Barun police station and Aurangabad investigation unit, apprehended the suspects.
A major operation by RPF Dehri and the local Barun police station resulted in the arrest of 15 inter-state smugglers and the recovery of 12 quintals of stolen copper.
It is worth mentioning that in August, unknown persons stole a large quantity of copper from a transformer at the under-construction power grid being built for high-speed trains near Son Nagar railway station. A case was registered at the local Barun police station under the relevant sections, and an investigation was underway. During the investigation, Inspector Ram Vilas Ram and Station House Officer Barun, Ranjit Kumar, received information from a confidential informant about the active involvement of smugglers. Acting on the instructions of the Superintendent of Police Aurangabad and the Senior Divisional Security Commissioner, Railway Protection Force DDU, a joint team of RPF Dehri post and CIB Gaya, along with officers and personnel from the local Barun police station and Aurangabad investigation unit, conducted an operation and recovered approximately 12 quintals of copper stolen from the transformer, along with 3 vehicles (one Scorpio, one Bolero, and one pickup). A total of 15 smugglers belonging to an inter-state gang were arrested on December 8, 2025. All the smugglers worked for the Tarzan Ramesh gang of Bardhaman, West Bengal. The local Barun police station took action against all of them in the relevant case and forwarded them to the court, from where they were sent to judicial custody. The Deputy Superintendent of Police Aurangabad praised the RPF and the local police station for this operation and congratulated all the team members, stating that they would be nominated for awards.
