He died during treatment.

Given the seriousness of the incident, a special team was formed under the leadership of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer-1 of Sasaram, comprising the Shivsagar police station and the District Intelligence Unit. The team conducted a raid and arrested Rohit Kumar, an accused in the incident, from Katar village, under the Indrapuri police station area.

During interrogation, Rohit Kumar revealed that he, along with Avinash Kumar Singh alias Barud, Bam Kumar, Abhiranjan Kumar, Kundan Singh, and Prabhat Kumar alias Pannu, were also involved in the celebratory firing. Nandan Kumar Singh was hit by a bullet during the firing, resulting in his death. Based on Rohit's revelations, the police also arrested Kundan Singh and Prabhat Kumar alias Pannu.

On Prabhat alias Pannu's information, the police recovered the 7.65 bore country-made pistol used in the incident from a straw room near his house. The team is continuously conducting raids to arrest other accused. The criminal history of the arrested accused is also being investigated.
