WORKSHOP ON ICU INTERVENTION OF PHYSIOTHERAPY

SASARAM-----------------------------The two-day ICU Intervention in Physiotherapy workshop was successfully organized today by the Department of Physiotherapy, Narayan Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Gopal Narayan Singh University. The objective of this workshop was to provide training in advanced physiotherapy techniques for the care of critical patients in the intensive care unit.

The program was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. Dr. Neeraj Kumar Director, Dr. Abhinish Ranjan Dean, Dr. Narendra Kumar, Head of Department of Physiotherapy and Dr. Vijay Pathania, Organizing Secretary. The inaugural ceremony began with Saraswati Vandana and lighting of lamps, after which the academic sessions began.

On the first day, guest speaker Dr. Sumanta Ghosh trained the students on topics related to ICU physiotherapy. It included topics like ventilator handling, proper positioning of patients in the ICU, respiratory techniques, ambulatory techniques and evidence-based assessment. Along with this, the students were also given hands-on training in ICU.

On the second day, the participants were trained about various advanced respiratory techniques, mobilization and assessment methods. After this, in the closing ceremony organized, Honorable Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. M.K. Singh, Dr. Kumar Alok Pratap Controller of Examinations, Bhupendra Narayan Singh (PRO, GNSU), Dr. Abhinish Ranjan Dean, Prof. (Dr.) Neeraj Kumar Director and Dr. Narendra Kumar Head of Department of Physiotherapy marked their dignified presence.

Certificates were distributed to the participants during the closing session. The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Vijay Pathania (Organizing Secretary).

Undergraduate physiotherapy students, interns and faculty members participated enthusiastically in this workshop. This program proved to be an important initiative towards strengthening ICU physiotherapy practice in the university.
