Women's empowerment in Bihar is no longer a story; its echo is now heard in the relentless sound of sewing machines. Hundreds of women employed at the Janaki Jeevika Mahila Stitching Production Company in Koilwar, Bhojpur district, are not only strengthening their financial situation but also making history with a mega order worth ₹200 crore. These women are producing uniforms for 5.2 million Anganwadi children across the state. The thousands of uniforms being produced daily on industrial machines prove that rural women can handle any major responsibility with flying colors, given the opportunity. This is not just production, but an inspiring journey towards a self-reliant Bihar.

This large contract to produce a total of 10.4 million uniforms for 5.2 million children enrolled in Anganwadi centers was awarded through the Jeevika State Office. Vendors selected under this project have received large orders for raw materials from other states. This financial year, the responsibility for producing uniforms for all Anganwadi centers has been assigned solely to Jeevika Didis, further expanding new employment opportunities.

Production Manager Randhir Kumar Singh stated that Janaki Jeevika Mahila Stitching Producer Company Limited has trained 350 women in Koilwar. Of these, 180 are employed by the company, while 320 women are regularly engaged in production through 16 producer groups formed in various areas of the district. Each producer group consists of 20 women, and their responsibilities are assigned based on the work. Currently, 150 women are actively involved in uniform production.

Supervisor Jyoti Devi explained that the company has established two dedicated units for the production of school uniforms, equipped with 150 industrial sewing machines. Trained women are producing 8 to 12 kurtis or uniforms daily. This initiative not only provides employment to rural women but also empowers them financially, marking a major step towards a self-reliant Bihar.

Secretary Baby Devi explained that this new example of women's empowerment in Bihar has become an inspiration for the entire state. This large order worth ₹200 crore has increased women's income and their self-confidence. Hundreds of uniforms being produced daily on industrial machines further strengthen this story of rural women's self-reliance.
