A horrific incident has occurred in a local village in the Naya Bhojpur police station area of the subdivision. After a dispute with her husband, a woman consumed poison herself and her three children. When their condition worsened, relatives rushed them to Dumraon subdivisional hospital for treatment, and from there, they were referred to Buxar Sadar Hospital, where the mother and two children died. The third child died on the way to Patna. The incident has caused chaos in the village. The victim's family is inconsolable. The deceased include Sunil Kumar's wife, Savita Devi, 30, daughter Jyoti, 5, son Akash, 3, and Vikas, 1. According to reports, Sunil worked as a mason, and Savita was his third wife. On Tuesday, a dispute arose between the couple over some issue. After Sunil left for work, Savita consumed insecticide stored in the house and fed it to the children.

Rural sources indicate that the husband and wife often quarreled. The dispute on Tuesday was possibly over a mobile phone, while rural sources also suggest the husband's illicit relationship was also a factor. Local police have not confirmed the cause of the dispute. Station House Officer Chandan Kumar says the matter is currently under investigation. Family members have gone to have the bodies post-mortemed. Only after interviewing them can anything be said about the matter.
