WHO IS RITA DEVI FROM BHOJPUR

ARA (RNI) Friday proved to be a historic and unforgettable day for the women of Bihar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar jointly launched the Chief Minister's Women's Employment Scheme, transferring ₹10,000 each directly into the bank accounts of 7.5 million women in the state. A total of ₹7,500 crore in financial assistance was provided under this scheme, which is considered a revolutionary step towards making women self-reliant and independent.

The highlight of this program was Jeevika Didi Rita Devi from Mohammadpur village in Bhojpur district, with whom Prime Minister Narendra Modi directly interacted via video conferencing. During the interaction, Rita Devi shared her inspiring life journey, which won everyone's hearts. She explained that she joined the Jeevika group in 2015 and began her struggle with a small loan of just ₹5,000. She first started raising chickens and gradually built a business selling eggs. Today, her hard work and dedication have led her to the position where she is known as "Lakhpati Didi."

Rita Devi said that interacting directly with the Prime Minister and Chief Minister is a proud moment in her life. She clarified that she will use the funds transferred to her account by the government to further expand her business. She also shared that despite difficult circumstances, she never gave up and that her persistent hard work has brought her to this point.

Her inspiring story has set an example for millions of women. During the program, other Jeevika Didis also expressed their gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, saying that this financial support will bring a profound change in their lives and give a new direction to their businesses.

This joint effort by the Bihar government and the central government will not only empower women financially but will also instill a sense of self-confidence and self-reliance within them. Rita Devi's example proves to the women associated with the Jeevika group that with the right direction, government support, and consistent hard work, any woman can become economically empowered.

District Minister in-charge and Panchayati Raj Minister Kedar Prasad Gupta was also present at the event. He praised the Prime Minister and Chief Minister's initiative, saying that this scheme will bring a new light of self-reliance and respect to women's lives.

Rita Devi's story is an inspiration not only for Bhojpur district but for women across Bihar and the country. She has proven that with determination and the courage to face difficulties, any dream can be realized.
