Ganga water level increased for the second time: Due to the rise in the water level of Ganga for the second time within two weeks, the danger of flood has started looming over dozens of villages in the area of five blocks of the district, Chausa, Buxar, Simri and Brahmpur. Sitting on the roofs of the houses, people are keeping an eye on the fierce form of Ganga. According to the information received from the District Magistrate, the water level of Ganga is 80 centimeters away from the danger mark. Currently, the water level of Ganga is rising at the rate of 2 centimetres in an hour.
What did the District Magistrate say?: The District Magistrate, who arrived to inspect the water level of Ganga, while answering the questions of the media, said that the water level of Ganga has increased for the second time within 2 weeks, which is the biggest challenge. He said that for the safety of the Kanwariyas who collect water from the Ganga river for the Monday of Sawan, adequate number of divers along with security personnel have been deployed. We are fully prepared to deal with any situation.
Negligence will not be tolerated: At the same time, when he was asked that whenever the District Magistrate has to visit, the arrangements are fixed but after your departure the situation becomes worse. On this, the DM said that strict instructions have been given to the officers. If there is any report of negligence from anywhere, then strict action will be taken.
Is there a danger of the embankment breaking?: However, during the conversation, District Magistrate Dr. Vidyanand Singh has dismissed the possibility of the Buxar-Koilwar embankment breaking. He said that the Buxar-Koilwar embankment is completely safe, there is nothing to worry about. The DM said that the officials are fully alert in view of the rising water level of the Ganga in the district. "The water level of the Ganga has started rising once again, this is the second time this season. However, it is still around 80 centimeters below the danger level, so there is no need to panic or be afraid, but still people have been asked to remain alert.
