SASARAM (RNI) During night patrolling in the district, Inspector in-charge of Resub Post Dehri on Son Ram Vilas Ram along with constable Sammi Kumar found two minor children (one a boy of about 3 years and the other a girl of about 4 years) abandoned near the ticket booking counter of Dehri on Son railway station. When asked, they could not clearly tell their name and address. On questioning the passengers and other people standing nearby, no one said that the two children were theirs. After waiting for some time, when no relatives of the two children came, then after informing the Child Helpline number 1098, both the children were brought to the post and when questioned in a calm and happy environment, the girl told her name as Lucy Kumari and the boy as her brother, his name as Gyanshu Kumar and father's name as Lalan Rai and the village name as Motihari only. Further, she told that both of us have been roaming here and there for the last four-five days and the said girl told her father's mobile number as 8651236436, on contacting which, due to network issue, contact could not be made. On receiving the information, in the morning, Child Helpline Sasaram's caseworker Jyoti Kumari mobile number 9942563228 appeared at the Railway Protection Force post and counseled both the children. In which both the children told the above things again, an attempt was made to contact the phone number given by the children again but the call did not connect on the said number. Afterward, a surrender deed was prepared to ensure the safe return of the two recovered children to their homes and reunite them with their parents. They were safely handed over to case worker Jyoti Kumari, photographed and videotaped, for further action. The families of both children have been informed.
