ARA---------------------------Supporters of Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari, who were on a public relations campaign in Mishrauli village under the Bihiya police station area of the district, were attacked, leaving one of his workers, Krishna Ram, seriously injured. MLA Tiwari described the incident as a "pre-planned" attack, allegedly carried out out of jealousy and hostility towards the Dalit community.

Giving a detailed account of the incident, MLA Rahul Tiwari said that he had arrived in Mishrauli with his workers, Chitranjan Paswan and Krishna Ram. After being welcomed at the bridge, the convoy passed through various areas of the village and finally arrived at the Kali temple for prayers and the turban ceremony. According to Tiwari, as they approached the temple, someone suddenly turned off the lights.

He said, “As soon as the temple lights went out, our worker Chitranjan Paswan protested and asked why they were turned off during the puja. This sparked a heated debate.” The MLA further explained that he was present at the scene and the situation was quite tense. He said that several people present with him, including the local headman and people like Munna Ji, tried to intervene and stop them.

Tiwari said, “We were also trying to convince them, but then a group of about 10-15 people armed with sticks attacked us from behind.” Our worker, Krishna Ram, suffered a serious head injury in the attack and was immediately taken to the hospital. The MLA also stated that the attackers grabbed Chitranjan Paswan by the throat and attempted to strangle him.

MLA Rahul Tiwari described the incident as a result of jealousy, personal animosity, and political rivalry. He said, "We were taking members of the Dalit community on a tour, and there was a large crowd, which they couldn't tolerate." Tiwari claimed that the attack was "pre-planned," involving the extinguishing of temple lights and the attack. He said the attackers were there deliberately to create trouble.

Tiwari also stated that similar incidents have occurred in Mishrauli with members of the Dalit community before. He indirectly blamed the opposition, saying the attackers were likely the majority in the village. According to him, the attackers were jealous of the large crowd accompanying them.

Regarding the identity of the attackers, the MLA stated that villagers have identified them and a video of the incident was also recorded. He identified one of the attackers as Ankit. The police were immediately informed of the incident, and after a call to 112, an administration team arrived at the scene. The injured Krishnaram is undergoing treatment.

Shahpur MLA Rahul Tiwari has alleged that his supporters were attacked in a planned manner, injuring several of his workers. The MLA cited political rivalry and jealousy as the main reasons behind these incidents.

Speaking to the media, MLA Rahul Tiwari stated that he and his supporters were in Sarna village yesterday, where they were surrounded and harassed. However, they avoided the situation and moved on. He added that a similar situation had arisen in Makdumpur some time earlier, forcing them to leave that village and move on.

When asked if there was a deliberate attempt to harass him, Tiwari categorically stated that his rivals "cannot tolerate" his popularity and public support. He said, "These people are intolerant; they're jealous. We're moving around, there are so many people, they can't tolerate it. So, to express their anger, they attacked us, even though we were present there, and we tried our best to protect ourselves. But sticks were taken out, so our workers pushed us aside."

The MLA explained that despite the overwhelming public support, he wasn't willing to go to Kalpatti, but at the insistence of his workers, he went there. When asked about his injuries, he explained that he wasn't directly hurt, but his workers tried their best to keep him safe during the jostling in the crowd. He said, "I wasn't jostled, but I was standing there with our workers. We were trying to reason with them when the attack happened."

Tiwari also clarified that he wasn't directly assaulted, but there was a clash with his workers. He said, "The workers were fighting. We were on the sidelines, trying to reason with him, but we couldn't. Our workers first took me to the safe zone. They said, 'Step aside, we'll see.' We tried to reason with him and brought me to the safe zone to ensure nothing happens to me."

Following this incident, the MLA has said he will file a police complaint and file an FIR. He has also spoken to the District Superintendent of Police and demanded immediate arrest.

Regarding the injuries sustained by his supporters, Tiwari said, "They were seriously injured and have been taken to the hospital. They have head injuries." He accused the opposition of being behind these attacks. He cited another incident in Dumaria, where a young man named Sittu Patel was attacked after hoisting an RJD flag. He was attacked, assaulted, and his mobile phone was snatched. Tiwari said such incidents are increasing and indicate that the opposition is unable to tolerate defeat. He said, "With such a large crowd, such a mob, so many supporters together, they are unable to tolerate it, which is why this incident is happening."

When asked if he had spoken to the administration about this matter, Tiwari said he would soon speak to the district Superintendent of Police. "Why are you being treated like this?" he said, "My maximum voters are generally poor people, and the very poor people of that village are my supporters, and they cannot tolerate how they have become his supporters. We believe people are taking this step out of panic and anger." Meanwhile, Chittaranjan Kumar, a supporter of RJD MLA Rahul Tiwari, who was injured in the scuffle that broke out during a public outreach in Mishrarauli village last night, described the incident: "We had brought the MLA to the Kali temple in Mishrarauli village. When we went to the temple to pay our respects to Goddess Kali, the power was suddenly cut off, plunging everything into darkness." He said that when he protested the power outage and asked why the power had been cut, some people present there began abusing him.

The victim alleged that the attackers hurled casteist slurs at him and claimed they were RJD supporters, which is why they assaulted him. Chittaranjan further said, "We were in support of the MLA, so they forcibly fought and assaulted us."

When asked about the identity of the attackers, Chittaranjan Kumar stated that they were all opposition supporters. He added that during the scuffle, they hit his brother Krishna Ram on the head with a stick, causing his head to split open. Chittaranjan also stated that he was also assaulted.

Victim Chittaranjan Paswan also named Sanjeev Mishra, father Munnu Mishra; Ankit Mishra, father Munnu Mishra; and Ashutosh Pandey, father Vinod Pandey, among the attackers. When asked if an FIR had been filed in the case, he confirmed that a named FIR had been filed. He said, "The police station assured us that appropriate action would be taken."
