BHABHUA---------------------------Unseasonal rains in Kharenda and surrounding areas of the block over the past two days have disrupted agricultural operations. The rains have damaged ripe paddy fields. Continuous waterlogging has also posed a risk of rotting paddy. The cultivation of several green vegetables, including garlic and spinach, has also been adversely affected, raising the specter of financial losses for farmers. Local farmer Lalbabu Pandey explained that he had planted garlic and spinach in his fields, but the sudden rain has already damaged the crop. Farmers fear that if the weather continues this bad, the harvest could be destroyed before it can be harvested. Farmers have demanded that the government and the agriculture department inspect and provide appropriate compensation and technical advice to compensate for the losses and ensure that future farming operations are not affected.
