PATNA----------------------------The people of Bihar will no longer have to face tripping or power cuts. Soon 23 new power substations will be built in Patna. This will make the dream of 24-hour tripping-free electricity a reality.
23 new power substations are being built in Patna to improve power supply and get rid of the problem of tripping. With their establishment, the people of the capital will be able to get uninterrupted power for 24 hours. For this, land has been marked at all places and construction work has also started at seven places. These include Patna Collectorate, Kothwa, Gulzarbagh Press Club, Science City, Vijay Nagar, Nandlal Chhapra and Shriram School Kankarbagh.
According to the officials of PESU (Patna Electric Supply Undertaking), after the commissioning of these new substations, the total number of substations in the city will become 101. At present, 7.5 lakh consumers are getting power supply from 78 substations. Earlier there were 74 sub-stations in Patna, but this year four new sub-stations have been started at Gola Road T-Point, Digha ITI, Karpuri Sadan and Chandravihar Colony.
The target of construction has also been fixed. Sub-stations will be ready by September 2025 at Patna Collectorate, Science City, Vijay Nagar and Nandlal Chhapra, while work is planned to be completed at Kothwa and Gulzarbagh Press Club by December 2025. Construction at Shriram School Kankarbagh will be completed by March 2026.
Work is also going to start soon at the remaining 16 places. These include Bihar Vidyapeeth, Sipara IOCL Road, New Vidyut Bhawan, Bhagwatipur, DPS Mor Khagaul, Usri, Nausa (Valmi), Danapur Block Office, Gulzarbagh SCRC Campus, Sampatchak, Kanauji Shaharpur, Ranipur Jalla, Bahadurpur Housing Colony, Patna Ghat, Pataliputra Sports Complex (Housing Colony) and Transport Nagar.
